Side mirrors both right and left occasionally flick in and out as if door adjustment activators are turning on and off. Mirrors flicker making rear auto lights flick in your face constantly when driving the vehicle at night. This was an occasional occurrence since vehicle was new, but not reproducible on visits to several dealers. Now it is a constant flicker when car is being driven. The dealer has just reported the entire assemblies must be replaced on both doors as a cost of $2,000 dollars. Makes this car totally unsafe to drive particularly in highway driving where changing lanes is required at night. I truly believe this is a defect that needs to be investigated concerning Toyota motor usa, as in my experience this is safety equipment issue that is dangerous. This is a vehicle that has not had excessive wear, nor been in any vehicle accidents. This may very well have been a causation to traffic highway accidents in this vehicle type during highway night driving, and warrants your investigation for this model or others similarly equipped. Thank you for your review of this matter. I have had your assistance in the past with a BMW 2002 3 series with failed rear tail light wiring. As a result, I know that this will not be ignored, and am hopeful that your investigation will save lives or prevent injury. We will not drive this vehicle at night, and the cost for safety equipment repair is definitely something the average middle class american can not afford, and should not ignore for their families safety.
