Received a recall in the mail stating front passenger airbag inflator module is defective. Report to you nearest dealer to have part replaced. When I did they said they have not received the part to replace. Waiting until they receive the part from Toyota main branch. Meanwhile in the safety notice for recall it specifically states do not operate vehicle with occupants in the front passenger seat. This vehicle is used for picking people up to be transported to appointments. How long can this be an inconvenience on not allowing anyone in the front seat. When asked how long will this take. I get no response for an answer on how long before parts will be shipped out to local dealerships. This is ridiculous to make a consumer wait for such a long period of time without any conclusion on how long to get a part. The last time I checked next day air was available anywhere in the world so what is the real problem with this recall. This is costing me money for not allowing anyone in this vehicles seat. I would appreciate a response or a deadline on when this can be resolved. Thanks hearing me on this issue.

I own a 2004 Toyota matrix with defective airbags. I think it is appalling the Toyota with the blessing of nhsta is allowed to choose which vehicles to recall on this issue based on local humidity. Although Vermont is not as humid as guam we certainly have high humidity days and what if someone bought my car and took it South? either they are safe or they are not safe and we know they are not. I am left with no alternative but to make all passengers ride in the back seat to protect them, how many more deaths will be needed to change this rulilng and...will it be someone that you or I love.

My SRS light came on. It was diagnosed as a code B1181 for spiral cable assembly. A recall is in place or 1.7 million vehicles in the us, but doesn't cover the 2004 matrix (does cover the Pontiac vibe though). Contacted Toyota customer service and filed a complaint, but they currently won't cover replacement as my model year isn't included in the recall and is out of warranty. I believe my car to be unsafe due to manufacturer's fault and believe repair should be covered by Toyota. Please help.

My SRS warning light has come on and not gone off. I found a recall has been issued for this but I have not received a recall notice. If I take my car to my dealer will I have to pay for this repair?

I received a letter from Toyota, 19001 South western avenue, torrance, ca on a vehicle recall for my 2004 Toyota Matrix regarding a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety. Toyota stated that the "electronic control module (ECM) for the supplemental restraint system (SRS)... could have been manufactured with integrated circuits that are susceptible to internal short circuiting... if internal short circuiting occurs, the front airbag(s) and/or seat belt pretensioners could inadvertently deploy. Any airbag that inadvertently deploys can, under some circumstances, increase the risk of injury and the possibility of a crash." On January 4, 2014, I called phillips Toyota located at 8629 U.S. highway 441, leesburg, fl 34788, at tel. 352-728-2030 to schedule the installation of "... a sub-wire harness (filter) to minimize electrical noise from the other vehicle electrical components at no charge to me." I talked to a person by the name of "[xxx]." he told me that he would order the part and call me after it comes into the dealership. It is now February 19, 2014, and I still have not received a call from phillips Toyota to schedule an appointment. This is a full 46 days and/or about 1 and 1/2 months since I called the dealership. I am very concerned about the "risk of injury and the possibility of a crash." The letter stated that should the air bag(s) deploy or the seat belt pretensioners, then there is an increase in the "risk of injury and the possibility of a crash." The recall letter from Toyota stated that I could file a complaint if I feel the authorized dealership has failed or is unable to remedy the defect within a reasonable time. Under the circumstances, I feel that the dealership has failed and that six (6) weeks is an unreasonable amount of time. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I was traveling at approximately 35 mph when I first started to apply pressure to my brakes. There was no tension what so ever. I was standing on them and the brake petal was hitting the floor. As a result, I ran though a stop sign and hit a concrete barrier. My steering wheel also locked up and my airbag never deployed. I lost my entire front bumper and the tank that holds the windshield fluid was cracked. The car was towed. I contacted Toyota's manufacturer and was told " it happens". I feel that there was a defect in the braking system and the airbag system. All I want is my car fixed but no one will give me the time of day. I bought the car in February of this year at a Toyota dealership. The car was pre-certified. Thank you.

Passenger side airbag deployed without warning. Three blocks from our home on a neighborhood going 20 to 25 mph. We took to our Toyota dealer ( [xxx] ) in Oklahoma city. He said we had to file a claim with Toyota and gave us a number. We found out later that day there was a recall on the airbag system and we had not received a notice in the mail. He did not inform us there was a recall on the vehicle even though Toyota's website showed the car was part of the recall. We had the car towed to another dealer, [xxx] of Oklahoma city. They did knowledge the vehicle was indeed part of the recall. Bob howard Toyota still has the car and we have a case number [xxx] with Toyota and [xxx]is waiting of their call to start work on the vehicle. I was driving below speed limit near my home in my neighborhood street when my passenger side front airbag went off spontaneously. No outside impact was involved it just went off on its own. Thankfully, I was alone in the car so no one was behind the airbag. The force of the airbag cracked the windshield of the car.

Safety recall notice (to fix SRS and ECM) was received from Toyota in the second week of February, 2013. The vehicle was taken to the local Toyota dealer (lee's Toyota, 139-65, queens blvd, jamaica, NY, 11435) on 04/03/2013, to have fixed the problem. Since the correct parts were not available at the servicing center, the representative has informed me that, they will place an order for the parts and will inform me once the parts are available at the service center (per the service center the wait period for the parts is about couple weeks). Today, 04-30-2013, I called the service center to check the status of the parts. The service center has informed that, they did not receive the parts and not sure and have no idea when they will receive them as Toyota is taking too much time to produce them. I request that this matter may please be examined and see how soon the parts will be available (I have a fear that my car may develop new or other related problems as I am using it with ECM and SRS problems and with the air bag malfunction light is on the dash board). Thank you,
