glare off the defroster lines in rear window
My new/used 2012 Toyota Matrix had significant glare off the defroster lines in the rear window. For every set of car headlights, I would see at least six complete sets refracting off the defroster lines, a row of 5-6 traffic lights for one light. I explained the situation to the dealer I bought the car from (Jim Hudson Toyota – Irmo, SC), and while there was no obvious visual delaminating of the tint, they removed and replaced the tint. Technician found the glue had started to break down and was not adhering to the window. Removing and reapplying the tint did the trick in my case – I can still see the defroster lines but the multiple headlight halos are gone. Everyone at the dealership was extraordinary (I would highly recommend them if you are in SC) – fixed the problem within 2 days of my complaint – and at no charge (for a 4-year old used car).
