I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK FOR MY TEENAGE SON, THE FRAME WAS ALREADY RUSTED REALLY BAD AND MY TEENAGE SON FAILED TO CHECK. HE SPENT HIS HARD EARNED BABYSITTING MONEY ON A TRUCK THAT HAS A REALLY BAD FRAME. I WISH I WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE, THE TRUCK IS NICE OVERALL BUT THE FRAME IS REALLY BAD. I NEED TO REPLACE THIS FRAME, THE BED OF THE TRUCK ALREADY HITS THE CABIN OF THE TRUCK. I FEEL IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE , SO IT IS JUST SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. I NEED HELP FINDING A NEW FRAME CHASSIS FOR THE TRUCK.

This problem has been happening to trucks Much older than the Toyota recall!!!! It's total BS for those of us left out in the cold with a rotted frame on a truck that should have lasted for many more years than it has! I take good care of all of my vehicles but this is just beyond "taking care" as it's just too far gone to do anything! Yeah I'm pissed! I can't afford the time or the money to fix it! The bed is completely rotted out as well from all over the top, bottom, sides... Road salt has something to do with it but I've seen many trucks older than my 92 that have very little rust and they were driven in the road salt during winters as well. It's a common problem all over the country in all types of climates! It's crappy metal and that's all there is to it.

Wow!!! I've never seen Anything like this!!! The metal on Both lower A-frames is like peanut brittle! You can grab it and it just crumbles in your hands!! Total bullshit! Thank God I wasn't driving this truck when the A-frames just crumbled and sent me into another vehicle or over a cliff! Worse yet got someone in my car or another car killed!! It's a friggin' crying shame and damn near a crime if you ask me!!!!

Toyota will not take responsibility for the obvious and complete lack of quality in the construction of certain truck frames prior to 1995 (very low quality Steel). The frame of my 1992 manual truck has rusted to the point where only 50% of the original frame is left, these trucks are a menace and put at risk all who own them. I owned the automatic deluxe version of the same year that had no rust issues whatsoever, it had 300,000 miles and was in excellent condition. Different style different frame.
