The HV battery died while I was on the interstate driving home. It took me some time to get over to the side and not get hit. The dealer wants to replace the HV battery, the electronic unit and all of the cables. It will cost me $4,000. I REALLY like the car but I can't afford that.

Toyota knows this is a problem since this is the first year they made the Prius. They need to help me replace this battery and pay for it...the car is useless and will not run. I already replaced the starter battery and that cost me $250 bucks. The main HV Battery will cost $4,000 bucks to fix it!!!! Ouch!!! I don't have that...who does?!

The hybrid battery had 1 bad cell, which ruins the whole battery and had to have replaced. They originally wanted over $3,000 for the battery, but I talked them down to $2000 after searching other Toyota parts dealers.
