Cannot use cargo hatch door because of broken pin. A 5 cent part, and dealership in Marin wants to charge $500
to replace entire assembly. While I was there, another woman had same problem with her 2006 Prius, and still another friend just repaired his.
How common is this problem and why should it be so costly to replace a part which is defective?
