Prius 1.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 87,500 miles

Check engine light came on, codes were read, we replaced the valve and everything was fine.

I hope there is a recall for this, as too many people have this problem. My car won't pass emissions test for annual state inspection.

service engine light, code p1121, coolant control valve

Same as many complaints here: Service engine light, code P1121, coolant control valve bad at 73K. A real pain in the ass because you never know if the engine light came up what may happen (Or is that code again or not?)

A potential hazard if not fixed since the light on may be neglected and losses its indication for other potential serious problems.

As many stated here, the problem is very common for 2004 - 2009 Prius. Toyota dealer agreed that they should have a recall, but not available now and I have to pay ~$600 to fix it. Again, this is a very common problem and Toyota should be responsible.
