Car died on the side of the road. Two hour wait on wrecker caused 12v battery to die. Turned out the sender that tells instrument cluster fuel readings was defective, so I basically ran out of gas. Gauge said there was 12 miles worth of fuel left. I have driven as much as 30 miles after the gauge reads 0 miles remaining, so this really surprised me. Toyota tech said they have gotten a few in like that, so this is nothing new. I don't know what needs to be done to get a recall. I guess the moral of the story is, if your Prius dies, put in a couple gallons of gas first.
