Prius v 4-cyl

  • 148,000 miles
The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Prius V. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle made abnormal noises and began to stall. All the warning indicators flashed on the instrument panel. The contact's wife pulled over and restarted the vehicle. The contact drove to fred anderson Toyota of columbia (2136 sunset blvd, West columbia, SC 29169, 803-223-7265) where it was diagnosed that the hybrid module failed and would cost $2,000 to repair. The contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 18V684000 (hybrid propulsion system) on the 2010-2013 models. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was informed to contact NHTSA for further assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 148,000. Consumer stated I was able to get some info from the mechanic at Toyota dealership: His exact words were that the whole converter module failed - fault code for electric failure, T0A94. I've also attached the repair sheet from the dealership.
