We purchased our 2002 RAV4 just before Christmas in 2002. There was some paint damage that they said they could repair any Monday, just bring the car back in. I was obviously pregnant at the time of purchase as our new daughter was born January 10, 2003. I took the car back in in February to have the repairs made. I was told at that point that the time to repair the paint damage had expired. The moral to this story is to always read the fine print. All the car dealership cared about was getting my car off of the lot. They refused to make the repairs that they had agreed to because I was out having a baby. While this may be legal, it is not ethical!
