RAV4 3.5L V6

Drove up to the store everything was ok, 15min later when i started back up the car, the power steering, abs brakes, handbrake, and check engine lights were on. i tried to put it in drive to take it to the dealer (again) put i couldn't put it out of the park position. called up the dealership they said to take off the little cap near the park position and press the button inside so i can put it in drive and get it over there. i had no power steering, no turn signals, no heat or fan, no power windows, no 4wd, no abs brakes...... on the drive there i heard a click and all the lights came on in the dashboard, and now the power steering was working, but the lights on in the dash changed. now i had the check engine, vsc, 4wd, ... lights on ....after a 2 day check up. they found out it was the remote starter that did not communicate with the computer in the car.. and that made all of that got off!!!??? what the$"/$%& , they said its a safety thing that when something goes wrong some other things shut off ! Don't know what to do, my rav4 is more often at the dealer than at home everything goes wrong

For those of you looking at purchasing a factory remote start for your Toyota, be aware that you have to unlock your doors and this will cause the remote start to shut the vehicle off. This is listed as a security issue. It's stupid. Your turn on your vehicle from your house, wait for it to warm up, walk out to your car and hit the unlock button. The vehicle shuts off. You get in, and then start it up again. Unnecessary wear and tear on the starter. This issue should be an OPTION, easily bypassed by shutting down the vehicle if its taken out of park without the key in the ignition. This is common on many other remote starters. FYI.
