In 8/2018, engine light came on and the error code was #2 cylinder misfired. Took it to the repair shop where they replaced the spark plugs and #2 cylinder. In 9/2018, the engine light came back on with the same error code. A few days later, while driving the 2007 RAV4, noticed the car temperature was close to H. Pulled over several times to cool off the truck. Able to park in it the repair shop parking lot (closed for the holiday) and added coolant to it....it just leaked straight through! The repair shop diagnosed the problem as a bad head gasket that was probably causing the #2 cylinder to misfire as the coolant was leaking into the engine. They did not recommend to repair as repair possibly required a new engine/rebuild.
Now I have to find a place that will take this truck as junk and had to shop around for another SUV.
