at 48000 started hearing clunking sound in frond end or steering wheel. Dealer said i must replace rack and pinion. Really??? at such low mileage? took to another mechanic that told me 2007-2008 rav4's came with weak rack and pinion. now that really is a bummer because i feel unsafe in my vehicle. have always had a toyota but only had good experiences, this one has been the opposite. Toyota will or has not recalled for this problem yet but should. very unpleased owner at this point of buying this car.
