All weather stripes at the door windows in my car totally deteriorated, cracked and melted. The front driver side window weather strip is not only cracked, but also melted at the sun, so when window opens and closed the remainder of the deteriorated strip leaves black melted rubber residue along the entire window. It's nasty, sticky and hard to remove.
I checked with the dealership, and was informed that it's not covered by extended warranty as it's considered "normal" wear and tear. No Way it's normal. All my other cars with higher mileage do not have this problem. It will cost around $500 per window to put new weather stripes according to dealership!! So I have to drive without weather stripes. I'm absolutely sure that it's a manufacturer defect, but they do not want to hear that.
