RAV4 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 78,000 miles

I too am unable to start my Rav4. It has 78,000 miles and is a 6 cylinder vehicle. sport (4x4) It just would not start or even turn over at all one day recently. The battery had 12 volts, lights were on the radio was running but the car acted as though dead. Now sitting in my driveway 2 days later something seems to have completely sucked the life out of my battery, my locks won't work, the lights nothing. I am certain the battery was fine. What is the underlying problem??? I don't have enough money to get the run around. Some say just get another battery (so it too can be sucked dry?) some say alternator?, I am very frustrated. I think I'll give the crap back to Toyota. I need a dependable vehicle.

RAV4 Sport V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,000 miles

When this happens all the dash lights, radio, and stuff come on but the car acts like its dead. I paid a lot of money for the extended warranty but the dealer can't or WON'T even try to find the problem. The first time I took it in they told me I need a new battery, which I was pretty sure wasn't the case, but ok they put a new battery in charged me and said they had fixed the problem. That very evening I go out get in it and nothing. After several trips to the dealer they still have no ideal whats wrong. But I have seen others complain about this same problem. HELP!!!! I believe the dealer is just wanting the extended warranty to run out so I will have to pay for it. BTW Hudiburg Toyota in Midwest City, Oklahoma are liars and thiefs!!! And it seems they don't have a single qualified mechanic.
