transmission failure transmission failure

Rear central differential leaked.

Very annoying during a long trip with lots of worries of overheating and breaking. I tried to have it fixed before a long trip, but it quickly leaked again.

At about 35mph the transmission would occasionally make a loud grinding noise. After having a transmission specialist diagnose the problem, I was informed that the planetary gear had gone bad.

While driving my 2010 Toyota RAV-4 it started making a very loud grinding noise. I pulled over and tried to put the car in drive but to no avail. Had a tow truck bring it a repair place. A trusty mechanic told me that even with only 107K miles on it, the transmission failed. I was shocked. I brought my car in regularly for service. Now I worry that more engine parts will fail. My 20 years of owning and trusting Toyota are done.
