This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Toyota dealer.
Rav4 XLE 2013 The Glove Box will not open. I call Toyota service department and left a message to call me haven't heard from them as yet. I did not realize there has been complaints with this problem with the glove box. The mileage is over 21,000. I wonder is there a warranty for this problem to replace the glove box?

Took the car for basic maintenance at our local Toyota dealership, and when it was returned the glove box handle was broken off! Dealer said the glove box was "stuck," but did not mention breaking the handle off. The glove box becoming stuck seems to be a problem with other Rav 4 owners as well.

The glove box on this car was always "sticky" and never entirely easy to open. I bought it used. Dealer did a 140 point car inspection so I never questioned whether that was normal for the glove box. Silly me. I go in tomorrow to have it looked at. My manufacturer's warranty put me over the 36,000 mark this past weekend. We'll see what the dealer does or offers to remedy this situation. This car has been nothing but an onslaught of ridiculous car problems from the day my wife bought it. Can't wait to get rid of it. Really makes me wonder if I will ever buy a Toyota again.
Update from May 28, 2015: Glove box was warped and wouldn't open. Dealer had to replace entire glove box assembly.

Disassembled the door and tried to repair. Lasted only a few weeks. Very poor construction on a dependable car. Replacement cost is outrageous for a plastic door. Real ripoff. Really disappointed in what used to be quality dependable manufacturer.
