The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Rav4. While driving approximately 10 mph approaching a red light, the contact attempted to stop the vehicle, but the brake pedal traveled all the way to the floorboard. The brake pads and rotors were checked by the contact and found to be in good working condition. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (hixson Toyota, 11981 lake charles, leesville, la 71446) where it was diagnosed that the master cylinder failed and needed replacement. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
