My tail lights just went out so I made appointment at Toyota dealer assuming it was a simple fuse or electrical issue. Dealer says mice have destroyed wiring. I had never heard of this until today, but now see that many others have same issue. From what I understand, car manufacturers KNOW that rodents can cause problems with wiring, so they made the idiotic decision to start coating wires with SOY. I use the car DAILY and have other cars sitting in same driveway and they have not had rodent issue. Also, I hear that Toyota has stopped using the coating on 2017 models, so they recognize the issue. Yet they won't take responsibility for it. Not sure if I will file in small claims court or join one of the class action suits.
