RAV4 LXE

I have a horrible grinding sound when I use my brakes at only 16,000 miles.

The dealer said they have had issues on older models but not the 2017 and not to worry, its just normal. I do not feel like brakes are nothing to worry about. so they made me wait an hour to just determine, yes they said they glaze over and there is still wear on them but if I wanted for $295 each front brake could be redone $590 out of my pocket "What"?! how is this even ok to say to a customer that has owned her vehicle only a year and has been treated bad every time she has visited AutoNation of Arapahoe (colorado)

I am so sorry I ever thought about buying a Toyota... I talked to them and they have flat faced lied on several occasions, I have no respect for this dealership... and will be contacting the Toyota Headquarters for some time of relief in the matters at hand... Pdenise

RAV4 Limited Hybrid

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,900 miles

Intermittent brake noise. Took it in on November 8 and drove with the mechanic and the mechanic did hear the noise. However the mechanics tried to replicate the noise and was not able to do that. The dealership wrote an incident report and forward it to Toyota corporate. On November 20 the noise occurred again and I immediately contacted the Toyota dealership. The Toyota dealership made a recommendation for them to keep the car for two days. I brought the car in today November 29, 2017. I was able to videotape the brake noise. However I received a phone call a couple hours ago stating they were not able to replicate the brake noise but will continue to keep the car for several days. They will also be forwarding the YouTube video to Toyota corporate. The Toyota dealership in Inver Grove Hills Minnesota has been so far a great experience. However the dealership is dealing with Toyota corporate and appears Toyota corporate has not received any complaints about this issue. However Toyota corporate should know that there are several videos on YouTube that have the same issue and had videotaped as I have. Here is the other video from a Nother Toyota hybrid owner with the same issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pk06bkFNjo0&feature=em-comments
