RAV4 XLE V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 136,465 miles

When placed in gear stalls frontward and backwards until warmed up then goes. Took it to Toyota and they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Now I see I’m not the only one with this problems. I’m am beyond angry, Toyota use to be better than this. Not happy at all.

I will never purchase another Toyota product. This issue should have been a recall on the 2017 like it was on the 2016. Blown tongue converters are a very serious and common issue with the Rav4. The Toyota dealer in Burlington was of no assistance and I would never buy from them again. We were looking to buy a Tacoma but have decided to stay away from Toyota due to the lack of customer service and poor reliability of Toyota products lately.

Toyota thinks they can continue to build sub par vehicles yet charge outrageous prices, and believe people will continue to purchase from them. I know we won't and have informed many others of the lack of quality and service we have received from Toyota Canada.

Never again we will purchase a Toyota. Period!

RAV4 SE 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

Live in Montana. lots of hills/mountains. While using the cruise control going up a hill the transmission downshifts rough and rpms shoot up. Would like to know if there is a fix to this problem or if this is Toyota's way to improve gas mileage. Funny thing is there is not any issues when not using cruise control. Quite annoying on long road trips.

RAV4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,214 miles

Car started and was shifted into reverse but slammed into gear. This happened 3 times. On the 4th try it went into gear normally. A week later when going up a hill the 6to 5 shift was very rough as was the 5 to 4. The dealer could find nothing wrong. They tested a new rav4 to confirm?????? Has anyone had this problem?
