RAV4 LE 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,156 miles

Annoying. I understand there is a warranty fix for this, and I will get it done at next service.

problem #1

Feb 202019

RAV4 XLE 2.5L 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 400 miles

The side mirrors on many versions of the 2019 Rav4s vibrate and distort visibility. It prevents the driver from properly using the mirrors for lane changing, particularly at highway speeds. At night, the issue can cause minor to sometimes erratic light deflection, impairing driving abilities. The issue was confirmed by dealer however they deem it a characteristic of the vehicle after performing like model comparisons. I performed a ride-along and observed the issue in other models including the LE and Adventure. The dealer further informed me that the regional ARM for manufacturing had observed the issue and "wants it fixed". Problem is that manufacturing doesn't deem it a defect and will not pursue a tech service bulletin as I have been told. If your mirrors shake, it's not repairable under warranty and Toyota stands by their faulty product. I'm quite nervous this is going to cause a wreck.
