I keep the key fob in my front shirt pocket most of the time, but this happens even when he key fob is sitting in the center tray where the aux input is. This causes locking and unlocking the car to be very difficult and prevents the ignition from turning on. It evens sometimes alerts me of the missing key while I’m driving. I frequently resort to using the lock/unlock on the remote but even that requires me to be within a few feet of the vehicle and still takes multiple presses. A Toyota dealer said the remote appears to be transmitting a strong signal but charged me for a new battery based on my concern about it acting like it has low battery- no change with the new battery.
Update from May 23, 2019: Dealer states that my dashcams are causing this malfunction.
