My car has a 14.5 gallon tank. I have only been able to put 8-9 gallons max into my car. The pump shuts off/reads as full. I should be able to get 500+ miles in my hybrid with a 14.5 gallon tank. I average 380 mp fill up. I paid big money for this car and would like Toyota to fix the fuel tank problem.

I purchased the new 2019 Rav4 hybrid on 11/29/2019 at prime motors in saco, Maine. It currently has 725 miles on it. When I attempt to fill it it won't fill all the way. It's advertised to have a 14.5 gallon tank but only holds about 10 gallons. The dealership advised me to keep pumping after the pump shuts off. This is very bad advice as it could overflow and cause a fire.

Vehicle does not function as advertised, ECM appears to change shifting, hybrid, and gasoline usage at lower temps. Pre-collision system malfunctions with any visibility reduction, causing the vehicle to suddenly brake at highway speeds or to not brake at all with radar cruise active. Also have same issue as others with not being able to fill tank more than 10 gallons of 14. Mileage is as low as 24 mpg for a whole tank, driving very conservatively.

I bought my new 2019 Toyota Rav4 hybrid xse and took possession on January 3 2020. Since then, I have refuled multiple times and noticed it would not take more than 9-10 gallons of gas from empty. I found myself refueling more times than my previous vehicles. When researching prior to purchase, the vehicle says it has a fuel capacity of 14.5 gallons and 580 miles per tank. I have never been able to get more than 9-10 gallons and it has always shown gas range in the 400 miles per tank. It has never given me anywhere close to 580 miles per tank. I took it today to the dealership after calling Toyota on January 30th and the dealership said that all cars have a 4 gallon reserve tank. This was their response to the problem although I am sure nobody would like to find out how many gallons a car has in reserve after the refuel light is on for obvious safety reasons. When I refuled all my previous cars, the capacity was at least what it said on the manual or more. It has never been a difference of over 38% from what the manual says to what this vehicle can actually take when refueling from empty with the refueling warning on and the refueling light on. It is dangerous to try and follow Toyota's official fuel capacity and range for this vehicle. If you follow the official range stated by Toyota in the manual and vehicle information, drivers can run out of gas thinking the car has actually 14.5 gallons instead of 9-10 and a range of 580 miles instead of the actual 400 mile range.

I purchased car Sept 2019, since purchasing I have been unable to fill my gas tank to full capacity. I only fill up 9 gallons before it kicks off, my range has never been more than 450 miles when I was told 550 miles before fill up. This apparently was a problem before I purchased by car but was not disclosed at time of purchase. Reported to dealership and just keep getting told waiting on a fix from Toyota.

Since purchasing 2019 Rav4 hybrid xle in April 2019, fuel tank does not fill to capacity. Fuel pump (regardless of which gas station I am at) shuts off several gallons short of filling the gas tank and the fuel indicator on the dashboard indicates approximately 3/4 full. This occurs every time the vehicle is fueled. Unable to attain fuel range for the vehicle due to fuel tank unable to be filled to capacity unless I force extra gas in the car by consistently trying to "top off" to fill with more gas (as there is still extra capacity upon the pump clicking off at first). Contacted Toyota about the issue in July 2019 and December 2019 but no resolution or explanation was provided on why this issue is occurring.

Toyota advertised the 2019 rav 4 hybrid as having a 14.5 gallon gas tank with a driving range of apx. 580 miles per tank. The tank only accepts 10.5 gallons and shows as full and only has a driving range of 380 to 420 miles per tank. The driving range is one of the reasons I purchased this car over its competition.

Additionally when filling the tank with fuel, when the pump auto turns off because the tank is "full" the fuel lever indicator needle is no even close to the "F" mark. False advertising by Toyota and failure to appropriately address the known problem.

2019 Rav4 hybrid will not fill completely when the low fuel warning system activates. The 14. 5 gallon tank will only take 9.5 to 9.7 gallons leaving about 5 gallons in the tank. I am not certain if I can drive further using the 5 gallons or would be left sitting and "run out of fuel." Other 2019 Rav4 hybrid owners are reporting a similar problem. So far Toyota has made no attempt to correct the problem. This has happened since the first attempt to fill the tank. The Rav4 currently has about 8500 miles. There needs to be a recall.

Fuel system does not hold the amount according to the manufactures specifications. This appears to cause the gas gauge to show incorrect, which could lead to running out of gas. Dealer said there was nothing they could do to fix the problem and that this was a Toyota issue.

My brand new 2019 Rav4 hybrid xle has a fuel tank that is 14.5 gallons, but will not fill above 9 to 11 gallons at any time. I have made an online complaint to ardmore Toyota of pa with no response. I have roughly 6,000 miles on my car, but have noticed this is as low as 400 miles in the odometer.

The fuel tank was at maximum capacity when picked up from the dealer with an estimated range of ~550 miles. Since driving away from the dealer, I have never been able to add more than 9-10 gallons into the "14.5" gallon tank, even well after the "low fuel" light has come on. Even with extra topping off and the needle reads as close to full as I can get it, now the estimated range tends to be ~350-370 miles. I have filled up the tank about 10 times now and this outcome is consistent.

The fuel tank does not fill up to capacity. I am only able to fill ~8 gallons in a tank which has a 14.5 gallon capacity. Also, when the low fuel indicator comes on, "miles to empty" reads only about ~30 miles which is incorrect in my opinion. There must be a calibration issue. I took it to the service station and they said there is no fix from Toyota. The recent recall affecting 700,000 cars with a fuel pump issue does not include my car (searched by VIN) or any Rav4 hybrids for that matter. How long is one supposed to wait before hearing back from the manufacturer? I have attached the service appointment confirmation.

Fuel tank capacity 14.5 gallons can only be filled to 9.5 gallons without aggressive "topping off". in order to avoid possible environmental harm and vehicle emission control damage, topping off not used. However, this leaves the vehicle 5 gallons short of a full tank (about 200 mile range loss)
