My Sequoia does not have many problems and I am very happy with it, so when problems arise it takes me by suprise....Here is what is going on:
The grinding noise/feel occurs only when hard over turning right or left. It feels like a tire rub on the wheel well or mud flap, but it is not (visually verified clearance). Normal driving and turning does not produce the vibration. Vibration only shows up in tight cornering such as in a parking lot. The steering is tight and responsive. Totally baffled by this symptom and looking for ideas of what it could be. I should note that the weather just turned cold (14 F to 30 F), not sure if that might have something to do with it.
Anyone have any ideas? Next stop is the shop, but I would like some idea of the problem first....
Update from Nov 15, 2014: The AWD/4WD engaged without activating the AWD/4WD button and the indicator light did not illuminate. I engaged the AWD and drove it home from work that way. I disengaged the AWD and the problem went away. I read the possible solution on Fixya.com. It seems to work.
