The door actuator went out on the driver's side. Both your remote and your locking system in the car will not work and you will have to manually switch the locks to off on doors where the actuator has gone out. I previously paid Toyota $400 to replace the actuator on a 4Runner a decade ago, I am guessing they would be charging closer to $600 to perform the same job now. However, I would suggest you look up videos online and perform the repair yourself. The OEM part is only $40 after tax and the job is very easy to perform with simple tools.
