Purchases vehicle used from a Toyota Dealer May 2024.
Jan 2025 began to experience problems with fuel filler door not closing properly, thus failing to interface with driver side power sliding door, such that door does not open properly.
Renewed registration May 2025, got notice from NHTSA of complaints of fuel filler door failure, and existence of Toyota Customer Support Program ZKE which agrees to replace broken fuel filler doors free of charge for 10yr from date of first usage, regardless of mileage.
Took vehicle to Toyota Direct in Columbus OH where CSP ZKE coverage was denied, stating 10yr warranty coverage under the CSP had expired in March 2025.
Program is still in effect until end of 2025 for vehicles place in service at end of 2015, so called Toyota Customer Service USA 800-331-4331 to request extension of warranty. Request denied on bases of March 27, 2015 date vehicle placed in service, warranty period expired. Complained no notice of program given from dealership at time of purchase...Toyota USA reported notification letter had been sent to former owner, but not me! Asked for Goodwill Assistance to have warranty period extended 3mo based on Toyota failure to notify, but Goodwill Assistance denied. Advised by Toyota USA repairs would have to be done at my own full expense.
