I am not happy with Toyota .They should recall these kind of problems. They made door handles with cheep materials and they are responsible to fix these.

OKay. So in the last 18 months we have replaced ALL of the door handles in this order:passenger automatic sliding door, driver side rear door, front passenger and finally driver. In February we also replaced the rear hatch handle. They keep it in stock because it is a common problem. Apparently worse in cold weather. Today my 4 year old broke off the driver door handle AGAIN! If this is a family vehicle, then why do they make door handles that kids can't "handle?"

I had a 2001 Toyota Sienna and replaced 3 door handles. The problem is that the door handle has a cable with a plastic stopo at the end. Over time. either the cable stretches or the stop slides I am not sure which. If you live ina hot climate, then I am more certain it is a problem with the plastic stop at the end of the cable slipping. I live in Texas. This is another design defect that Toyota will not own up to. Toyota does not have a low defect rate, they just refuse to record defects.

Well, the first handle to break off was the passenger sliding door. And this happened, I'm sure, because the power door stopped working and my kids would have to really yank on the handle to get it open. So it broke off. The next to go was the front passenger handle. We discovered this when my son went to open the door (not violently) and it just popped right off. Lovely.
