2004 Toyota Sienna LE... Driver side seat belt will not retract, has happened several times. CANNOT get it to retract so cannot safely drive it. This is a very common fault and a SAFETY RECALL should be done, NHTSA - do your job!

Seeing tons of hits in Google when researching. Really surprised Toyota has not issued a recall.

This is a safety issue. The seat belt does not tighten around the passenger.

Driver-side seat belt is twisted in the bezel and often sticks.l. Front passenger-side belt sticks (nearly each use) and has to be pulled (hard) all the way out and slowly returned before belt will engage safely. Had the driver-side "untangled" by the dealer one time for $25 and that lasted less than 3 months. New belts cost over $300/each. If Toyota recalled the center seat belts for the same issued, why not the rest of the belts???

My drivers seat belt would constantly twist and not retract. Toyota Dealer Maintenance tried to repair twisted seat belt on numerous service calls. Suggested I replace the belt with a $300 new one not including labor.

This is my wife's car. We thought Toyota was quality. I think they where in the early nineties. I used to be a fan but this vehicle has changed my mind. Only average quality here.

front Drivers seat belt started to jam in bezel(?). A portion of it would bend or double over, this causes it to stick in the slot where it's supposed to retract. In order to get the seat belt to move freely again, we have to use a small straight blade Screw driver and try to unbend the crease where it entered the bezel. It has become increasingly difficult to free up the seat belt. It is more likely to occur the faster you pull the seat belt out to connect it. It is a real pain when it happens because you can not drive anywhere with the seatbelt inoperative. Not legally anyway. It has caused me to be late getting to scheduled appointments several time and can take up to 15 min to un jam.

Several months ago, front passenger seat belt started to jam in bezel(?). A portion of it would bend or double over, cause it to stick in the slot where it's supposed to retract. In order to get the seat belt to move freely again, we head to try to unbend the crease where it entered the bezel. It has become increasingly difficult to free up the seat belt. Sometimes, we can't use the front passenger seat. Is this related to the existing recall for the middle seat passenger seat belt problem? I will be taking this to the dealer for examination.

Drivers seatbelt completely stuck. While seatbelt has been slow to retract for a long time, I've never had it jam in place before. Seatbelt jammed while away in the evening, and I couldn't fix. Now the seatbelt is fully (or nearly so) extended, and I've yet to find instructions on how to take the wall-panel apart to get at the seatbelt that is left behind the seatbelt "dispenser" cover.
