door won't close all the way. You need to keep pushing the door button open and close about 10+ times until it will latch. You can't drive with it slightly open door beeps and then opens. Googled problem and see a lo of owners have this but Toyota not putting out a recall and then heard it costs $1000 + to fix it. This is obviously another defect like their hatch door ( which there was a recall and I did have repaired after the door slammed into my head).

I really like the Sienna but have had multiple problems. Some terrible as reported some minor nuisances- i.e. Air bag light coming on for no reason- that took 4 trips to dealer to fix. peeling pain on rims.

One of my power door for my Sienna has gone out. The repair bill estimate from what I read on the internet is about $1,500 per door. Only one of my doors is out now, but I've also heard once one goes out, they other isn't far behind.

The cause: The small metal cable the runs through power mechanism for the door is covered with a plastic coating. After time the coating gets brittle and cracks. This plastic gets jammed up in the mechanical motor area causing the door to become stuck. One mine the door was stuck about 1/3 open on a raining evening. It gets jammed pretty good to where my wife couldn't close the door.

When I got home I was able to muscle the door closed but it wouldn't open or close without some muscle behind it. The solution to get the door back operational is to cut the small cable at both ends freeing it from the rest of the mechanism.

I knew the 2002 Siennas had problems with the doors but I figured Toyota would have fix the problem by 2006. When the other door breaks I'll be looking at about a $4,400 bill to fix the two doors and my Navigation/Stereo unit which also died. I'm pretty sure I will not be buying another Toyota for awhile. So much for reliable.
