Every Toyota ever made that came equipped with cruise control from the factory has used the same cruise control switch assembly, as far as I've been able to ascertain. These vehicles must number in the millions.
I can see no reason why, after all these years, that this assembly should cost this much money to replace. aside from the obviously minimal material costs to produce, and also minimal transportation costs to deliver, what justification can Toyota submit for costs this high other than "We say so."?
I realize that Toyota is not alone when it comes to gouging customers for repair parts. But, eventually, people will tire of being taken advantage of, and will turn to less expensive alternatives. I know I certainly will. I hope Toyota invested the money they made from me wisely, because they'll not get another dollar from me when I'm done with this vehicle.
