The unit in question can be programmed to work the garage door opener for the house. The buttons are made of cheap plastic. There are five buttons in the unit, all cast as a single piece of plastic. Eventually, the button used to operate the garage door opener failed due to fatigue of the material from which it was made. The design of the buttons in this unit is terrible.

I went to see if it was possible to buy new buttons. No. You must buy the entire unit, at a cost well above $500 to fix this broken 2 cent piece-of-junk button.

Fortunately, there are two other buttons which can be programmed to operate equipment such as garage door openers, so I programmed another button to operate the door. I'm now waiting with baited breath to see how long this button lasts, before I have to program the last remaining one to open the door.

In my opinion, there is NO EXCUSE for this kind of junk engineering in a vehicle that was as expensive as this one.
