I was pulling up into my garage driveway, and applied the brake and then without any kind of warning my Toyota 2007 Sienna started accelerating and I couldn't stop it, even though I was pressing on the brake as hard as I could. It ran through my garage door and took off half of the garage housing on the left side, and then it rammed into the wall separating the garage from the house. Out of desperation I shifted from drive to park and that finally stopped the van. So far we are awaiting an investigation, in the meantime though our lives are in limbo because of this.

I have a Toyota Sienna and I have had my foot stuck on the accelerator at least three times causing a surge. A pair of diabetic shoes issued by the va was the cause. They were tennis type shoes with a deep tread. I discarded the shoes in case I had to drive with them on. I was able to pull loose each time and get to the brake. I wonder if the va should be warned. Also wonder if other Toyota problems involve shoe type.

My 2007 Toyota Sienna has an average mpg readout. I reset the readout when I refill the fuel tank. When I have about 177 miles on the tank, the mpg reading instantaneously drops about.3 or.4 mpg. I reported this problem to the mark miller Toyota dealership and they had no interest in it and refused to pursue the issue. This problem is highly repeatable and occurs each time the above sequence occurs. I report this because on the news a couple of days ago, the Toyota CEO reported that they had no reported computer errors on their products. I had reported what I suspect to be a computer error and Toyota didn't appear to record the report.
