lug nuts break and fall out

Horrible noise! Not sure if it is a break, wheel bearing, transmission....mechanic can't find the problem for the noise, replaced wheel bearing on right front, still have the noise! So....wait until it gets so bad, we can tell what the problem is. Everything checks out ok, but no one checked the lug nuts! There are two missing on the left front wheel. Not the first time this had happened, but guys don't listen to 'suggestions' from women!
