I bought this vehicle used and noticed that the dash was sticky and easy to damage after my purchase. It seems that the heat in Florida damaged the dash and now it needs to be replaced.

Toyota is cheating its loyal customers. They know about this melting dashboard problem and have an extended warranty for it but apparently it has a specific time limit. I took too good of care of my vehicle and the dashboard didn't melt fast enough. They closed out the window for me to get the warranty replacement dashboard. I had the vehicle evaluated in 2017 and it didn't qualify back then for the replacement. In Spring of 2019 I now have a problem and cannot get the replacement dashboard because the time limit has expired on the extended warranty. So it's a known defect, but too bad if you are just over the warranty period for replacement. I have always bought Toyota but probably won't be buying another Toyota because of this.
