Long story short a chemical test revealed that I am indeed looking at a failed head gasket. As I have been researching this issue I have found that head gasket failures are quite common with 2007 to 2010 Toyota Siennas with the 3.5L 2GR-FE engines and pretty much with any Toyota with that engine. I don't have an exact quote to fix this yet but this job is 4 to 5K on the low end and goes up from there.

My Sienna with the 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 engine started leaking coolant externally at around 155k miles. Toyota specialist mechanic said it was due to a failing head gasket.
