problem #2

Solara SLE 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 243,500 miles

Was going to work one morning and went out to start my car to warm it up, door wouldn't shut, just thought it was ice build up so scraped the ice away and still wouldn't shut. It would just close and bounce back. (I never slam my doors) Just got a regular old screwdriver and closed the latch because it got stuck open. Put new grease in and never a problem again. Easy fix, no problem at all. 243,XXX miles and counting, No problems.

Solara V6

This is such annoying problem! Every time I get in my car when it's cold outside the drivers side door won't latch shut. The latching mechanism seems to have frozen. The door will shut after I let the car warm up for a WHILE. But, if I'm in a hurry to get to work, I have to drive and hold the door shut.. I got this car in March of this year, and didn't start having problems until November, when we got to freezing temperatures here in Ohio.
