The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that the leaf spring fractured without warning and there was a punctured hole, which damaged the fuel tank. Prior to the failure, the contact tried for several months to schedule a repair. The dealer indicated that they did not have a remedy for several months. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 14V604000 (suspension), 12V092000 (air bags), and 09V388000 (vehicle speed control). The dealer did not know when the parts would become available to schedule the recall repairs. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop and the leaf springs and fuel tank were replaced as a temporary remedy. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.

My father has an '05 Tacoma SR5 V6 with the trd off-road package. His truck is a 6-speed manual. When pressing the gas pedal 1/2 way, the engine responds with a semi-violent jerk, and then goes. This scares me, as I couldn't even imagine my father going fully down on the pedal. This is very unsafe. Please fix this Toyota.
