Rusty Frame Issue Toyota Tacoma had a warranty enchantment program that expired in 01/31/2019. I took the Tacoma July 18 2022 to the dealership for regular maintenance and they told me -??THE TECH NOTICED 2 LARGES HOLES IN THE FRAME WHICH IS GOING TO COMPROMISE THE STRENGTH OF THE FRAME-??. When I asked why they didn-??t change the frame during the inspection back in 2015 if they knew it was going to be a problem. They refused to give a good answer. I took the Tacoma to the dealership back in 2015 for a frame inspection the nonprofessional inspector chose not change the frame. I contacted Toyota Motor Sales USA and basically was told they couldn-??t do anything because the warranty enchantment program already expired. I understand that the warranty enchantment program has expired but I don-??t understand how I have full responsibility when I did my part as the customer by taking my Tacoma during the time window of the warranty enchantment program. This is not safe for me, my family of the citizens. I believe there are going to be many more Toyota pickups with this problem.

The frame of my truck failed at the motor mount. The motor mount has sunk into the frame shifting the motor and effecting performance and other parts. This can be confirmed by anyone. I never received recall information, I can-??t find evidence of one issued for this year or my state.

We took our truck to a mechanic to have it looked over before our 18 year old son takes it to college. The mechanic said the frame had so much rust it is unsafe to keep driving it. Once I searched for this problem, Toyota had an extended warranty to cover it, but a recall had never been issued. Therefore, we did not know about it and the warranty time period is up. Now we have a vehicle too unsafe to drive and we didn't know in time to fix it.

The frame of this Tacoma is rusted and has significant holes, very unsafe. I have been told mixed messages by different Toyota dealerships. The Toyota dealership needs to take care if this recalled frame and stop telling me they do not cover mine. I will not accept the excuse of the recall has expired. It's their responsibility to fix this dangerous problem.

I recently purchased a 2005 Toyota Tacoma needing a new battery and alternator. I'm a mechanic the price was right so I bought it without a second thought when installing the alternator I saw rust hole in the frame in front of the drivers side tire a little more inspection showed there is not much frame left there is a whole cross member missing the frame is broken in front of the rear spring hanger and one of the struts is separating from the frame the whole frame seems to be delaminating but no rust in the body anywhere I noticed anyway I was under the impression that Toyota had fixed this problem I checked the service report 2/9/16 169000 miles rust present but no perforation found. Ok at this time. Exact words so here I am four years later 189000 miles with a rotten frame and Toyota saying you missed the window I have to wonder how many more of these dangerous pickups are on the road this one runs and drives well.

Bought truck in Virginia and brought to South Carolina in 2016. Soon after I got recall on frame rust. Dave edwards Toyota spartanburg, SC inspected and documented "ok". needing to sell truck in 2019 I cleaned/scraped frame and removed 6 pounds of rust from only 1/2 of the truck--took truck and pictures in to dave edwards and they looked at pictures and refused to look at truck or do repairs to frame or leaf springs (on recall). So, I spent $20,000 on a truck that the dealership wants to condemn. So, is truck unsafe to drive" will Toyota be responsible if something happens to truck, or my family, or someone else"

Unintended acceleration on 3 occasions. 12/23/19, 12/24/19 & 2/22/20. Seems to happen during slow creepy speed with foot action on the brake in slow traffic or going thru a parking lot. I have been fortunate to be prepared for this to put pressure on the brake, slam in park and turn off ignition due to a similar occurrence on 10/7/19. If not prepared it could easily result in an accident. It bothers me how random this occurs for no reason.with foot nowhere near or on the gas pedal. Vehicle acts like you slammed the accelerator to the floor.

The frame on my Toyota Tacoma is rotting away. When I spoke to a rep from Toyota on 9/27/19 he said the recall ended January of this year. Sense when does a recall end. Isn't it good for the life of the vehicle. When I brought the vehicle in for the leafspring recall they inspected the frame to and said nothing was wrong with it that was a few years ago obviously they were wrong but they will not honor it so now that I paid all of that money for my truck. What am I supposed to do. I I have no choice but to drive unsafely vehicle. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has this complete. Somebody really needs to do something about this it's not fair that you spend your hard earned money on a vehicle for the frame to rot away. I feel this recall should be honored. I take very good care of my vehicle so it would last because I can't afford to purchase another one and it's really not fair this is Toyota's fault not mine. And in my opinion this is extremely unsafe

Unintended acceleration: Stopped in traffic with foot on the brake pedal. Suddenly vehicle started to accelerate with my right foot on the brake pedal the entire time. Back wheels started to spin with vehicle lurching forward. Fortunate to have enough space between vehicle in front of me to avoid hitting it. The unintended acceleration event lasted about 10 seconds or so.

I own a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. I took the vehicle to white river Toyota at 303 sykes avenue, white river junction vt. 802-299-2880 for some recall work, the dealership informed me that the frame was completely rotted and they stated that there was a warranty enhancement program dated from 7/17/17 to 01/31/19. The dealer and manufacturer stated that during that time, they could have made the repairs; however, they could no longer assist since the warranty was expired. The vehicle was diagnosed but not repaired. The failure mileage was 25,125. Yes that is correct! 25,125

When checking under my truck for a noise, my son-in-law discovered that the frame on my 2005 Toyota Tacoma truck was rusted with large holes and perforations on both sides in multiple places and actually was crumbling off in his hand. I immediately called a Toyota dealership and they said there had been a class action lawsuit about the Tacoma frames, but it was settled in March 2016. I called Toyota usa and was told they had sent me a notice about the lawsuit. However, I never received anything about this nor did I know anything about Toyota doing any repairs or replacements. I was told there was not a recall on my truck. I had a 2001 Toyota Tacoma that did have a recall on the frame rust, but mine did not have any perforations and I have since sold that truck. I bought this 2005 truck in 2014 and have never received any notifications about the frame. I have received other recall notices which I have had repaired at a dealership. This is a real safety problem. Toyota says there are thousands of people like me and they won't do anything about it. There are people who have had their trucks buckle in half. I am submitting pictures of just a few of the spots of deterioration of my frame. I don't know when this started, but we discovered it on June 11, 2017. Now I'm afraid to drive my truck.

Toyota frame recall - I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma with holes and cracks visible in the frame. I can only imagine the damage internally to the frame. Huge chunks of frame rust come from the inside of the frame when pressure washed. The truck was originally purchased and resided in the northeast for the majority of the vehicle's life. The truck was obviously exposed to road salts and as a result the frame has been compromised. The Toyota dealer must be aware of the history of the vehicle as the truck was serviced regularly at Toyota dealerships and third party service centers throughout the northeast. In 2014 Toyota tried to covered up the problem with a "rust inhibitor" which only hide the true damage on the frame. I recently took my truck to autonation Toyota at 2555 colonial blvd, fort myers, fl 33907 phone:(239) 321-5413 for a different recall, the rear springs. I requested the frame be replaced under the recent Toyota frame recall settlement and was simply ignored. I am currently driving my truck as a necessity knowing there may be a catastrophic failure at any time. Toyota has agreed in court to either replace or buy out the vehicles affected. My truck is a danger to myself and others on the road but I can't afford another vehicle. I have taken pictures of the affected areas of the frame as evidence of the damage. Please help!

Bought truck 4 months ago from a no haggle dealer. Just recently truck has started to lurch forward if I had to brake suddenly or a fast/hard brake or when first accelerating after a stop..Toyota certified 4X4. Upon research here at this site this seems to be a very common problem and quite a few complaints about this so why Toyota hasn't done anything to fix this problem I do not understand. I hope my dealer fixes this problem when I call them tomorrow but I did not get an extended warranty so I'm sure I will have to pay for it and not even sure it can be fixed
