Tacoma 4x4sport V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 64,008 miles

I own a 2007 Toyota Tacoma v6 stick shift. Within the first two years a finger in the clutch fly wheel was bent and had it replaced under warranty. The work was completed under 3 hours under warranty. Less than 2 years later a squealing noise began to come from the car and it ended up being the throw out bearing. If the clutch is pushed in you can not hear it, but as soon as the pedal is out the squealing is load. Toyota would not fix this part under any warranty. They also want ver $600 for the work done and say it takes 5-6 hours! Funny how it only took less than 3hours when it was under warranty. So I found a repair shop to do the work for a little less money. Less than two years later the squealing is back again. I don't want to spend another 5-600 dollars to fix it if is going to come back again. Can they use a differ lube, parts or what so that this doesn't happen again? I am tired of my fairly new truck sounding old and noisy!

Update from Jun 24, 2013: Toyota fessed up to the issue after taking it to corporate and have bew parts so the problem should be solved. They fixed the problem and are paying for the parts and labor. Unfortunately they found a oil leak on the timing chain cover. This was also a recall issue but since it is over the warranty period I will have to cough up $1100 for that fix. Does it ever stop!!!???
