The rear suspension feels like it bottoms out when hitting even small dips in the road. It has been doing this for about as long as I have had the truck (2007) and all suspension parts are original.

On the 2007-2009 Toyota Tacoma pre runner, the rear leaf springs are very weak and when small loads are placed on truck, the rear end bottoms out violently. Causing potential loss of control of the vehicle. Toyota has issued a technical service bulletin but not a safety recall this is a poor unsafe feature. And should be repaired by Toyota on all noted trucks via safety recall.

Took my 2007 Toyota Tacoma to the dealership because of squeaking and the smell of burn metal. The service agent said there is a service bulletins(tbs 027409) the rear leaf springs are defected as she said. Toyota would only fix the problem if it was under warranty. But since my was out of warranty I would have to pay for it. I told her that if the vehicle has a defected problem why was I not in front of it at the time it was issued. She said if Toyota inform every one it would cost Toyota alot of money. Please inform all Tacoma owns of the problem before the leak spring brake and go airborn and kill someone.please do not take Toyota word on this, like you did with the floor mats.... please have them recall the vehicle before someone dies if someone have not already die. I will also be sending a letter to us representative stupak. Toyota is still only thinking of there bottom line.

2006 Toyota Tacoma rear leaf suspension squeaks when any force is applied to it. No symptoms other than squeak, noise is loud enough to be heard in cab when driving with windows up. Rear leaf springs were replaced under warranty by the dealership.
