This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Toyota dealer.
They said the radio is three months back ordered. The radio will turn on and turn off on its own. I lose volume control. It is extremely annoying! I drive extensively and resorted to using my ipod. I had a Dodge Dakota before this and the sound system was a lot better. Kinda surprised in Toyota. Quickly summing it up faulty radio and poor speaker quality.

Radio issues, 4th radio to be installed this saturday, no volume control, lights flicked, turns on and off whenever it wants too. Truck has spent more time in for radio problems than any other maint. issues. It's a royal pain.

This truck has had the radio changed twice now for the same problem. The dial on the radio will not work. Not very good quality product for the price I paid for the truck. Twice the cost of a domestic.

Various radio controls would occasionally stop working. Finally happened near a dealer so I showed it to the service department and it was replaced under warranty.
