My daughter Cara Humphries purchased the truck brand new in May of 09. We started to notice the film about a year later, the film is getting worse all the time. I went to the dealership we purchased it from (Stephen Wade Toyota in St George Utah) When we first started to notice it and they said it was not a warranty issue. I feel when you pay over 28,000.00 for a new truck everything should be covered bumper to bumper. We love toyota vehicles, Toyota is all we own. Toyota really needs to find out why the lenses get this film and fix the problem. Please consider this request to replace the head lights on this truck.
Sincerely,
Mont Humphries and Cara Humphries

Heat from headlight bulbs cracks the cover of lights. I purchased the car from Toyota in 2009. Since then, I've had to change my headlights 5 times. I previously took the car to various dealers for an opinion and was told this occurs with this model "Tacoma". The lights begin showing a symptom of looking foggy, then a stain appears in the center of the plastic that covers the complete light, then a crack appears a short time after, then they look like they will burn out. At that point, I get it fixed because who can afford doing this often?
Sometimes I wonder if I was sold a bad car or if Toyota has a defect in making their headlights. Last year I had a friend help me replace the complete lights because it was getting pricey, they lasted one year and now they started fogging again.
