Tacoma 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

Only 120k. My biggest complaint is it's going to cost between 4000 to $6000 to have a shop fix it. Not a do it yourself Job in a day or two. I expected better from Toyota.

Tacoma 2.7L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 91,421 miles

One owner 2010 Toyota Tacoma pick up truck. Very light duty service from a truck. I bought brand new and had a proper engine break-in as per the owners manual. No off road, no towing. This truck was treated like a car. Oil changes every 5000 miles. No accidents. Driver was 50 years old at purchase and drove vehicle responsibly. Check engine light came on at 91421 miles and almost ten years old. Toyota diagnosed possible bad ignition coil on cylinder three. Replaced all four ignition coils and all four spark plugs.

The check engine light came back on and brought it back to Toyota dealership. Truck was diagnosed as misfire on cylinder three due to coolant leaking into that cylinder. Replaced head gasket and all other corresponding gaskets. Total cost for the head gasket replacement was $2850. I bought this truck because I was told that the Toyota inline four engine was bullet proof. I had better engine reliability on my 1996 Dodge Ram pickup. I am very disappointed. I will never buy another Toyota Tacoma.
