The dealer has not remedied this recall. I called to make an appointment over 23 weeks ago. I was told the parts would be there in 7 to 10 days. I called and was told by the dealer they are waiting for the parts from the vendor.

Regarding recall # 14V-604. Took vehicle in for inspection on Nov 8, 2016 at big island Toyota, located in kailua kona, hi. Dealership said truck failed inspection. Said replacement parts would arrive in six to eight months. Seems unreasonable amount of time to repair a defective vehicle.

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Tacoma. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14V604000 (suspension). The vehicle was inspected several times and the dealer stated that the part was not available for an extended period of time. In addition, the dealer kept stating that the part did not need to be replaced. Upon starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal noise and the suspension was unstable for months. The contact was unable to determine when the vehicle would be repaired. The VIN was also included in NHTSA campaign number: 11V148000 (tires). The manufacturer was to check with the dealer to determine when they would be able to provide a repair solution for the leaf spring assembly and also when the second recall may be performed. The failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect.

I was notified in early 2015 (not sure of the actual date) of a pending recall NHTSA# 14V604 or Toyota # E02 regarding a problem with rear suspension leaf spring assemblies. I received a second letter(in 2015) about the same issue noting that a solution will be in place in early 2016. I have not heard from Toyota regarding this issue in 2016 yet the issue recall is still active on the NHTSA data base. At this time, I have not had an incident with my vehicle but am disappointed that Toyota has been so deliberate in fixing the problem. That is my complaint.

Takata recall: Called Toyota dealer 05/24/2016 I was told no parts were available at this time and that it would be in the week after someone from the service dept will call to schedule. On 06/07/2016 I left a follow up message. The service dept got back to me and said she didn't know what I was talking about because they have a scheduled apt for me to bring my vehicle, mind you I have not received a message. Finally after a month today we took our truck in this morning only to get called 30 minutes later that they made a mistake and have no parts in stock and will call me once they have it again. That right there is unacceptable. My husband and I had to adjust our work schedule losing hours to bring our truck in only to be called later. They couldn't tell us the day before when they called to confirm the appointment or when we checked in.

Steering is very loose on off road driving / or "washboard" type road- there is currently a Toyota tsb (technical service bulletin) #0119-10 out right now with a solution to the problem. Solution= replace intermediate shaft. After reading all the posts online, this needs to be a safety recall. My truck only has 85,000 miles on it with loose steering. And has been like this for some time!
