Tacoma SR 5 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,075 miles

I have been to the dealer 8 times, I have done everything they wanted. The problem is when accelerating between 60 and 80 khl there is what I call a skip or jerking when trans is trying to shift. It happened just at 60 and just at 80. They just put a new transmission in on 5 /26 / 2017. I drove it for a day and it started again!!!! I have done everything the dealer and Toyota Canada has asked. Now Toyota is going to phone around to other Canadian dealerships to see if thy have had a problem like this. I can't pull my trailer to go camping ( all Canadians camp) and I am very uncomfortable driving the truck . I am thinking if this can't be fixed in a very short time they had better buy the truck back. Oh it is still under warranty because it went in before the 100,000 and I have not signed off on the repairs.

Update from Jun 18, 2017: LUCKY me Toyota found the problem,a bent pin going to the computer. I have a new trans with no problems so far!

Tacoma TRD Offroad V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 19 miles

This vehicle has drive line vibration from 5-25MPH under moderate to heavy acceleration in 2WD. I had the dealer look at it during my first service. The balanced the tires, checked the alignment, and sent me out the door. They said the technician could not recreate the symptom. I was not offered to ride with the technician. This issue is still there, but time to take it to the dealer is the problem. I will try again during my next service and request to ride with the technician to show them the issue.

vibration while driving

I bought a 2012 Tacoma Double Cab, TRD Off Road package with a manual transmission. I have a significant drive train shake / shudder when accelerating (no matter how slowly or quickly) between 3 and 25mph. It's especially noticeable going uphill. Been to the dealer 3 times now, see image for first time repair order write up. 2nd time they told me to go away until I had 5000 miles. 3rd time Toyota refuses to fix it and has changed their story to tell me it's "normal".

Clearly it's not normal because not all do this, only some automatics and some manuals have this problem. I've now had to get an attorney for lemon law claim.

My 1999 F350 has never had this problem, not sure why some Toyota's do, it's probably their ever declining quality.

This will be the last Toyota I own - I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone.

2012 Toyota Tacoma, Toyota in all their wisdom changed the driveline in the 2012 Models. Driveline contains 3 u-joints, causing vibration and shuttering when accelerating quickly from a dead stop. also you can feel the vibration thru the accelerator and steering wheel at lower speeds. So far Toyota has done nothing to fix my problem!! There telling me they know its there but will do nothing to fix it. Toyota used to stand for Quality. Today, not so much!!!!!!!
