Excessive oil consumption: I noticed this first after the 35K service interval. Late in the cycle (~39000 mi), checking to oil level showed non on the dip stick. It took two quarts to get it to almost full. When I brought in in for it's 40K oil change, tech thought it might not have gotten filled correctly at the last change. Paying better during the next interval, the consumption was slow at the beginning but accelerated towards the end. Another 2+ quarts. At the 45K oil change today, tech said Toyota has had an issue like this on another model. He set it up to do the oil consumption test (1200 mi). He also mentioned that Toyota's policy is 1 quart of oil consumed per 1000 miles is normal. I've never owned a car that consumed more than a 1/2 quart in 3000 miles (I change my oil on previous cars at 3000 mile intervals). My last truck was a Dodge Dakota and even at 125K miles, it wasn't using a 1/2 a quart of oil between changes. I think I'm getting screwed here.
