Horn will honk when steering wheel was turned to the right or left but could not get it to honk when the steering wheel was in the straight or normal position. Took to local Toyota Dealer and it was found that the Spiral Cable in the steering wheel was the cause and needed replaced so I had the dealer replace this Spiral Cable in the steering wheel which then fixed this issue. I found online that there were recalls and service bulletins on this issue, but it was for prior years and did not include my vehicle. I noticed that there are a lot of discussions and complaints online about this issue, so it seems that this is an ongoing problem.

I took my vehicle in to the dealer where I always have it serviced, and asked them to do a front end alignment, since it pulls slightly and I noticed a little uneven tire wear. The mechanic said the front suspension is too rusted to align. I took the vehicle to a tire shop recommended by the dealer service advisor, and they said it is extremely rusted and sprayed some penetrating oil on it. I posted some pictures online in a Tacoma forum and everyone thought the rust was excessive, especially for a southern California vehicle where the roads aren't salted. I am the original owner. Based on what I read in online Tacoma forums, excessive frame rust was a well documented problem for earlier years There is excessive rust and corrosion on the front frame, suspension and steering, preventing proper steering alignment as normal maintenance. The problem was originally identified by the dealer last month during a routine 5,000 mile oil change service; they never notified me about a problem in any previous service, and the problem was independently confirmed by a tire shop when I tried to have them perform a front wheel alignment. There are no warnings or symptoms, and the need for a front end alignment is due to normal wear and tear

While driving on the freeway, the steering wheel began to shake vigorously, then the right front wheel came completely off the truck. The ball joints snapped off causing a wreck. My truck slid into the side of a big rig. Luckily nobody was hurt, but the failed ball joints were the cause of the accident in my opinion. I also have the dash cam video from the big rig.

Since I purchased the 2014 Toyota Tacoma in febuary 2017 ive had constant difulculty steering/turning the vehical wich is noticeably to hard/stiff for power steering in this truck.3days after I purchased it, a man I know looked at it briefly & right off he notice that all 4 tires were excessively cracked between the treds all around each tire & cracking onto tred but cracks between the tred had places he showed me that were much to wide & deep leaving me, my child, & other drivers on the road in a highly unsafe matter.all four grandtrek dunlop brand/model tires are all cracked the same & rotting away.I called the dealership whom I got the truck from & they refused to replace the tires nor give me the Toyota warrenty information they said the truck was still covered over.regardless, these tires are still defective & a huge safety threat.

Vehicle has 1-2 inches of play in steering and wanders all over road under all but perfect conditions. It is a dangerous, particularly in emergency situations. Purchased new. Dealer and manufacturer deceptively state "they all drive that way." Third party confirmed vehicle is defective. Internet search reveals ongoing problems with Toyota Tacoma steering assembly that is being ignored by manufacturer. Lemon law repurchase underway after over a year of trouble and expense caused by manufacturer and dealer refusal to honor warranty and legal obligations.

Any time I engage the 4X4 once you making a tight eight er left or right the steering kinda locks on you and if you trying to give some gas to make truck move it stalls I mentioned to Toyota dealership and the guy said a few people complained about the problem but he can't do anything about it......this creates a dangerous situation if I'm parked on a tight spot and need to engage my all wheel and I cant move the truck.... or at any situation where I have to make a tight turn....had 4X4 before and none did this to me...... I have a Tacoma base 5 speed manual.

My 2014 Toyota Tacoma when driving on the fwy over 60 mph has vibration and steering wheel shake, dealer has replaced tires, re-aligned and road force balance all wheels and problem still persist. Vehicle is now at 5000 miles and being bought back after arbitration, oh it took 2 Tacoma's with same issue and 2/1/2 years to get to this point.
