Used certified 2015, Tacoma, purchased at Toyota of orange, ca. With a pitted windshield. Dealer didn't disclose. Safety issue. Dealer wanted to do a repair it not replace it. Sense then I have a replace it with a new one, because it created a visibility hazard. Not covered by warranty. All their inspections miss it. Discovered on 3-12-19, several days later after purchase.

The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Tacoma. When the driver side window was wet, it made a loud squealing noise and extreme moisture accumulated in the door well. The dealer diagnosed and repaired the vehicle twice, but the failure recurred. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 6,500.......updated 04/01/16 consumer stated problem is under the driver side seat cut in carpet for some kind of hose coming thru floor board, fogging windows and ice cold air coming thur floor board. The side view mirrors are too big and obstruct the view when turning right or left. The driver's side view mirror is worse and when turning left you can't see if there is a pedestrian in the crosswalk. It seems to be a problem for short drivers mostly and most women are much shorter than men. I have gone to the dealer and they do not have a solution. This seems to have been a problem on a number of Toyota for many years. I suspect I will have to go to a junk yard and find something that is smaller. For more on other people who have had the same problem, go to: Side mirror blind spot www.toyotanation.com/forum/61-2nd-generation-2005-2015/297184-side-mirror-blind-spot.html

I have twice in the last year brought my 2015 Toyota Tacoma to the dealership in stuart Florida to address a safety related issue where I reported that every morning on my way to work condensation accumulates on the outside of the windshield restricting vision. The windshield defrost vent directs air-conditioned cold air, even when the defrost feature is not selected, creating a potentially serious vision impairment safety hazard. The only way to remove the condensation is to engage the windshield wiper every couple of minutes when condensation becomes too dense. Last week the dealer witnessed the issue and could actually feel the cold air being emitted and then consulted with a corporate technical assistant who advised via technical case #152830046 'the HVAC system was operating as designed' and blaming Florida's humidity. I have owned and operated many vehicles in Florida over many years including Toyota and never experienced this problem. Either the HVAC system on this model has a safety flaw in the 'design' or the corporation is trying to avoid what may be a costly, potentially fleet-wide, repair. Nonetheless impair vision is a safety hazard that needs to be corrected by Toyota.

At night, the top 1/3rd of the windshield causes double vision of lights. This occurs for all headlights, taillights, signal lights, and streetlights. This doesn't occur lower in the windshield, but it's unavoidable for taller drivers (I'm over 6' tall). This does occur the entire width of the windshield. It doesn't occur with any of the side windows. It also did not occur in a previous 2013 Tacoma that I owned. I've verified this with the dealership (kearny mesa Toyota, san diego ca). They were able to reproduce the issue in my brand new vehicle. They have also reproduced this in 3 other brand new 2015 Toyota Tacoma on their lot. They have stated that this is simply the way the windshield is manufactured. This is a serious night time safety issue that appears to be inherent in all 2015 Tacoma. It seems to me that the state of California would refuse to issue me a drivers license if I told them I had night time double vision. It can't be acceptable that it's built into a vehicle.
