While using MAX Air Conditioning, after about 10 minutes, the radio will start changing channels on its own and the screen will freeze. The only thing to do is shut it off. When using other than MAX A/C, the problem doesn't occur. Weird, huh? I will let the dealer know when I take it in for 25K service and see what they say.

So there is a radio problem with my new 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD. This model does have the back up camera. This has happened a few (4) times when it gets really cold. Listening to the radio all of a sudden it will start pushing the favorite buttons all by itself. It will actually change around to different preset stations, highlight a preset button and change the location of that station. Its like watching a ghost play with your radio. Only happens when the temp does a severe drop from say 30 deg F to 15 deg F. After I re-program the station buttons back to where I had them its fine for a while till the temp dips again. It's just a real pain.
I had a 2013 that never had this problem. Little different radio and the back up camera screen was on the rear view. Its not a huge deal, but its not right. I haven't taken it back to the dealer yet because it hasn't bothered me enough to start wasting my time trying to get it replaced. And maybe the new one will do the same thing.

My new 2015 Tacoma has an AM radio problem. The volume changes randomly. I have taken it in. They said they replaced the radio. The called in a district rep. He said he compared it to a similar Tacoma on the lot. It does the same thing. So Toyota says it is normal. There is no problem. I owned my last Tacoma for 13 years and never experienced anything like this. My Tacoma does not have a back up camera. I was told the ones with a back up camera have a different audio system. i can only assume they don't have this problem. Toyota says it is fine. It is NOT acceptable. I am so frustrated. I will never buy another Toyota.

Radio (head unit) will not turn off when car turns off. All accessories turn off, but the radio, bluetooth, entire head unit stays on and drains battery within two days.
